Prices

One price per appliance, agreed on the phone and not changed on the doorstep. A single oven is £77. Add the hob or the extractor to the same visit and you only pay for the extras, because the cleaner is already there.

A single oven with the hob and extractor added comes to £128 (a gas hob is a few pounds more). Two appliances in one visit is the commonest booking we take. Minimum charge is £67, which only bites on a hob or extractor on its own.

Working in Hounslow

TW3 and TW4 are mostly Edwardian and interwar terraces and 1930s semis, with a large stock of 1960s and 1970s semi-detached houses laid on solid concrete ground floors rather than suspended timber. Around the town centre and the station approaches there are blocks of purpose-built flats and a steady flow of newer apartment schemes. Rear extensions and side-return kitchens are extremely common, which is why so many ovens here sit in extended galley kitchens with limited ventilation.

Most outer Hounslow houses have their own driveway or hardstanding, but the streets nearest the High Street and the three tube stations are permit controlled, and the borough now issues virtual permits only.

Households in this part of the borough are large and multi-generational, so ovens tend to be used heavily every day and carry baked-on tandoori and tarka residue rather than light spillage.

Extended galley kitchens with recirculating rather than ducted extraction leave a greasy film on wall units above the hob, which lengthens a full oven and extractor job.

Water here is hard, which shows up as scale inside steam ovens and on the trays people rinse and put back wet. It comes off, it just takes longer than the grease does.
