Hounslow kitchens, as we find them
Many of the ovens we clean here sit in a rear extension or a side-return kitchen built onto a 1930s semi or an Edwardian terrace. Long, narrow rooms, often with a recirculating hood in place of one ducted outside, so the grease has nowhere to go. It settles on the wall units above the hob and fills the hood filters. That adds time to an oven and extractor job, and we allow for it when we book you in.
Cooking in this part of the borough is heavy and daily. Big households, big pans, plenty of oil and spice. On the oven floor that turns into baked layers, so the racks get a longer soak and the cavity gets more than one pass.
The water is hard. Glass rinsed with tap water and left to dry comes up with a white bloom, which is why door glass and hob trims get a dry cloth from us before we pack up.
Most outer Hounslow houses have a driveway we can pull onto; nearer the High Street and the three tube stations the roads are permit controlled, and any bay we pay for there goes on the bill at cost.
